How to Dress for an Interview

When attending an interview, you need to ensure you are dressed appropriately! First Impressions last so it would be beneficial to make a spectacular first impression.

If you are not dressed appropriately, you have already lost points with the interviewee before even introducing yourself. However if you make a good impression, this would already give you a better chance of securing the position.

  Below are tips for Men and Women:

Men:

Hair – Clean, neat and tidy. Long hair should be tied up neatly.

Facial Hair – Shaven neatly and unnecessary hair removed.

Jewellery  – Avoid Excessive jewellery. Wedding Ring and Watch should be ideal. No bulky bracelets or necklaces should be worn.

Outfit - Wear a clean suite, in black or earthly colors. Avoid bright colors. Where shoes that are clean and shiny.

Nails - Make sure you nails are clean and cut short.

Cleanliness - Ensure your breath is fresh, and your personal body should be fresh and smelling clean.

Women:

Hair – Hair should be cleaned and brushed neatly.

Jewellery – No Bulky or excessive jewellery should be worn. Small earrings, ring, watch, bracelet and simple necklace can be worn.

Make Up – Light Make up can be worn, do not wear makeup as if you are about to spend a night on the town.

Nails – Avoid having brightly painted nails, ensure nails are kept neat and clean.

Cleanliness – Always smell fresh and clean. Do not overdue perfumes and sprays.
