Tips for the Rushed Job Seeker: Do not apply for any job vacancies if you have not read through the requirements. A lot of rushed job seekers apply every vacancy they see which is an inconvenient to potential employers as most cv’s received do not correspond with the requirements of the ad placed which wastes the employers times as well as your for applying for jobs that you don’t really have experience in. |

Make sure that if you apply for the position that you have the right skills required for the position, do not assume that you will be able to learn these skills as some companies do not have time to train candidates and this is why they stipulate what skills are required. If an ad states a certain salary and you require much more, do not apply as you may have the experience and the company will call you in for an interview but you will discover that they may not be interested in increasing the amount which causes your time as well as the employer’s time to have been wasted. Ensure if an advert states you require your OWN transport, that catching public transport does not mean the same thing. Usually when ads state that your own transport is required, it would mean you may have to do errands for the company with a fuel allowance.
Motivated Job Seeker
A motivated job seeker spends time scanning through jobs in order to find a position that fulfills their desired needs usually based on earning a higher salary, or those who would like to relocate or change their field of work. Tips for the Motivated Job Seeker: When applying for a position that interests you, make sure you supply the company with an exceptional motivation letter explaining your skills and why you would be the ideal candidate for the position. |

If you are looking at receiving a certain salary, you need to make room for negotiation so always have a second amount in mind when applying for positions.
If you are relocating, ensure the position that needs to be filled allows you sufficient time to relocate, do not apply for a position that needs to be filled within days of application if you still need to give notice and find accommodation in the required area.
Not all companies require one months notice, so if you need to apply for a position that requires the right candidate to apply sooner, go to the interview and see if this can be negotiated. If not and you are successful with your application, discuss this with your current employer.
