Preparing for an Interview

Never attend an interview unprepared! The best impression is to be prepared. This shows that you are motivated and interested in the position
If you are aware of the company’s name, then investigate them before you attend the interview.

Firstly you need to know what the company does and how they go about their day to day running. Secondly it would be ideal to read up on what would be required to be filled in the desired position you are applying for.

There will come a time in the interview that the interviewer will ask if you have any questions, it can be intimidating as you don’t want to bombard them as well as the fact that you may be nervous.

But everyone walks out of an interview regretting the fact that they forgot to ask this or that. So the best way is to be prepared. However make sure you listen carefully when being interviewed as some of your questions may be answered before you get a chance to ask.
Below are a few questions to consider asking your interviewee:

You need to find out if the salary offered is Net or Gross. Net Salary is the amount you take home after deductions. Gross Salary is the amount before deductions.

Enquire if there are any benefits: Medical Aid, UIF, Petrol Allowance, Cell phone Allowance.

You need to find out if it is required for you to work overtime and if so, if you will receive overtime pay or time off.

Dress Code is important so you need to enquire as to what needs to be worn, or if there are any uniforms that need to be worn.

One question that is always important, find out there is room to grow in the company. You do not want to be stuck in the same position without any opportunities for the future.
